Premium full-cassette awnings, surveyed, built and fitted across every London postcode — from our Barking showroom to homes in Kensington, Hampstead, Richmond and beyond.
London homeowners have a specific awnings problem. Gardens are small, walls are often period brickwork or render, planning rules vary borough to borough, and the weather does whatever it likes. A cheap awning bolted on in an afternoon looks wrong on a Victorian terrace and rarely survives its second winter.
Premier Awnings builds for the London market. Every installation starts with a site survey — we measure, photograph, check wall fixings, discuss sun angles, and leave you with a quote that reflects the house you actually own rather than an average. We fit the same full-cassette systems on Georgian townhouses in Marylebone, new-builds in Nine Elms, and detached homes along the North Circular.
Because our showroom is in Barking (IG11 8BL) we service all of Greater London in-house — no subcontracted fitters, no brokered installs. Survey, manufacture, and fit are all handled by our own team.
Central and inner London homes are dominated by Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian terraces with rear gardens narrower than they are deep. A retractable awning here does two jobs: it extends the usable patio into the hotter months, and it reduces solar gain through the back reception-room glass. We fit Somfy motors with wind sensors as standard in central London because between the river and Hampstead Heath, gusts are unpredictable.
Outer London stock is more varied — 1930s semis in Harrow and Bromley, inter-war detacheds in Richmond and Chislehurst, new-builds in Barking Riverside and Woodberry Down. Larger projections (up to 4m) and twin-arm cassettes are common on these deeper gardens.
For conservation areas and listed buildings — which affects a surprising number of our Kensington, Chelsea, Hampstead and Highgate clients — we survey with your conservation officer in mind. Discreet frame colours, sympathetic profiles, and minimal fixing impact are part of the brief, not an add-on.
We install across every London borough. Most surveys happen within 7 days of your enquiry; most fits are booked 4–6 weeks out.

Yes — we regularly fit awnings in Kensington, Chelsea, Mayfair, Notting Hill, Marylebone, Primrose Hill, and across the City fringe. Access, parking and congestion-charge logistics are handled as standard; it affects scheduling, not price.
Almost always, yes. Most retractable awnings are classed as permitted development, even on listed or conservation-area properties, because they're removable and don't change the building's fabric. We'll flag during the survey if your specific case needs a courtesy note to your conservation officer.
Yes. We use chemical-anchor fixings rated for pre-1940s London brick and soft lime mortar. If the back wall is in poor condition the surveyor will recommend posts or a roof-mount bracket instead — we've done both many times.
A single-awning install is a half-day on site. Survey to fit is typically 4–6 weeks, driven by the fabric lead time — the cassette mechanism, motor and remote are off-the-shelf from our stock.
